2009

The University College Falmouth organized workshops and Symposium in 2009 around the theme the relationship between the visual arts and ecological thinking.

2008

In 2008 the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Marmara University in Istanbul organized the workshops and the Debates. The theme of the Debates was Migration and Artistic Hybridization. Speakers were Peter Sonderen, Petran Kockelkoren, Ismail Tunali, Karl Schlamminger, Li Bingxun and Andrzej Kostolowski.

2007
The Zürcher Hochschule für Gestaltung in Switzerlad organized this year Seminar. To enable the students to also participate, the Debates were organized after the workshops closing presetation.
There were two debates. On of them on the theme: The Impact of the BA/MA-Model on the School of Arts and the other one on the thema The “Academisation“ of Art Schools : Necessity or Mistake? For more information: click here

2006
The Universidade de Évora, Portugal organized this years Debate on the theme ‘Neolandscape’. Keynote speakers and workshop participants from all over the world participated actively in the interesting program.

2005
Maryland Institute College of Art organised the 2005 general assembly, debate and workshop.
The general theme was technical cultures in art.

2004
AKI Enschede in the Netherlands organised the AIAS event 2004.
Affiliated to the general assembly a two days seminar called Eye Wonder with key note speakers from all over the world was organised in close cooperation with the Technical University Twente.

The AIAS seminar was organized by SACI Florence, from 5 - 7 May.

2002
The general assembly and the workshops 2002 were organised by the Kaywon School of Art and Design. Have a look at the pictures!

Wimbledon School of Art was pleased to organize AIAS 2001 and was inspired by the symposium theme of “identity in the digital age”.. .

2000
The 2000 AIAS event, both general assembly and workshops were organised by the Ecoles d’Art and the écoles des arts décoratifs, Geneva.

1999
In 1999 the General Assembly was held in combination with the AIAS student seminar Park of the Future at the grounds of the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam. This seminar was also the official closing of the program organised on the occasion of the celebration of 75 years Gerrit Rietveld Academie and the retirement of president Simon den Hartog.

1998
In 1998 the General Assembly was held at the School of Visual Arts in New York and in connection to this a workshop was organised for professors based on the theme: Art education after 2000.

1997
The General Assembly and workshops were hosted by the Hochschule fur Kunst und Design in Halle, Germany.

1996
The 1996 General Assembly and workshops were organized at the Hochschule für Künstlerische und Industrielle Gestaltung in Linz, Austria.
